I have installed and configured VOIP-Gizmo on my phone but whatever hotspot I visit after some seconds a get the message: "Cant connect to the network" What could be the reason?
N80i does not connect to Gizmo?
Most likely ports are blocked.
The WLan wizard on my n80ie also detects the free public wlan but i have never been able to connect to it. Is there a setting i need to know? I am in VA by the way.

I have read the forums about blocked ports, and set my wireless to be unsecure, forward all ports from 10000 to 20000 to my mobile and still I cannot connect to gizmo with the same error as shown above.
It worked once (a couple of weeks ago) and I managed to call using gizmo, but, with no network config change, it stopped working.
i get the "Can´t connect to the network" message when connecting to a network that isnt defined in the sip settings. i.e go to (tools)-settings-connection-sip settings-name of settingeg gizmo-default acces point -then make sure this is set to the access point you want. also make sure that in 'internet tell settings' you have the profile activated.
setting the default acces point each time you change networks is a pain so i suggest you set it up truphone style and set up a number of profiles that are essentially the same but with different acces points eg:
gizmo-home
gizmo-work
gizmo-travel
then leave home and work set and only adjust travel when you use a different to usual point.
of course the above might not be your problem!
Have you changed the settings from UDP to TCP? Usually that works.

Where can I do that?
I am able to use gizmos on some wifi routers, some routers I cannot connect. But recent there is a new version of gizmos voip, version 2.xxx (I can't remember exactly). Manged to connect to more routers. Use to be version 1.0. You can download it using the internet folder, download, gizmos voip.
hope this helps.

This has to be done in two places for each SIP profile in the phone. Navigate to
tools > settings > connection > SIP settings > profile name > proxy server > transport type
and change the value to TCP. Then, push 'back' and select 'registrar server > transport type', and change the value to TCP.
If the phone still doesn't make a connection, reboot it.

I dont have the option "proxy server" on my phone. Arriving at "tools > settings > connection > SIP settings > profile name" I have only the option to change the name or to go to "SIP-Profile". And there I only can enable or disable Gizmo?
go to the sip profile. inside you'll find the proxy settings

Sorry, that is no option on my phone. When I push Sip-profile I have only the choice to put or remove a cross in front of "Gizmo".

Thanks,
I finally managed to change my settings to TCP. Tomorrow Ill check it at a public hotspot.
