N80 "Internet Edition?"

Recently I had a chance to revisit the E61 at a local shop, and although the N80 is billed as the "Internet Edition" phone, with WiFi and UPnP, the E61 actually had more connectivity options.

One thing that caught my eye is how many options are available on the E61 for the Data Bearer settings when creating a new access point.

On my N80 I have two options, GPRS or WiFi. On the E61 I think there were 5, including IP passthrough, High Speed GSM, and a few others.

I also found small things were different -- for example how on the E61 new messages are listed on the standby screen; I realize that this is because its billed as a email/blackberry killer; but something like that could easily have been put in the N80 (after all, the WiFi Wizard is there which shows current WiFi status on the today screen).

Some more options were there on the E61 that I felt were more suited for the N80; so now I am deciding if I should try out the E61 for a few days to see how it fits with the way I work.

Has anyone else felt that the "Internet Edition" was more marketing hype than substance?

e61 looks ghey though

what gets better than wifi on a phone? not much unless the next N series nokia has built in graphics accelerator and more O which it does (N95)... the e61 isnt a N series phone its more a business type yuppie phone, the N80 already had wifi nokia just improved some of the functions and bugs with the N80IE firmware, since i only bought a N80 because i nearly bought a cheap N70 but found the N80 was around (went away from nokia since my 6600) i didnt use the N80 for long before i made it into a IE but since i have had N80IE i can connect in most citys to loadsa wifi points and cruise on the net for free use truphone ect its great got tomtom ect, dont care for pinktooth or 3G as im a scroge, i like the N95 10x more than the e61 but not enough to want to change my N80 yet hopefully they can improve the N80 some more and when they do that will be my next phone untill then im happy 😃
