Hi,
I'm interested in upgrading to the N73 but I would like to know which service providers don't mess with Nokia's firmware or do they all? I'm currently with Orange but I'm willing to change to another provider. I'm looking at moving over to 3 have any users got a N73 provided by 3 and how is regarding the firmware. Thanks in advance.
Andy
More or less all of them make some "bad" things to the firmware. Best of all, an unlocked phone. But you must search with service providers of your country or region, what they do to "destroy" the phones:frown:
I bought my N73 from Virgin PAYG, for about £270, just before Christmas and mine seems to be unlocked and I've been able to download all firmwares as they been released..
Currently:
Product Code - 539101
Firmware - V3.0704.1.0.1
When I set 'Operator selection' to manual and search, the list returned is:
T-Mobile UK
O2 - UK
3 UK
vodafone UK
Orange
With no crosses or other such marks against any of them..
Just in case you don't know Virgin piggy back off the T-Mobile network..
I've had no problems (yet..)
And any functions I've been short of I've found a download to fulfill
Scooby 😊
I got mine from T-Mobile.. I pay £25 a month and £99 for the hand set in january...
Every firmware released has worked on my mobile so far, so i see no problem yet..
Even got it to Music Edition with no problems.. also the web n walk feature is very good..
Hi,
Thank you to those who replied, I have decided to stay with Orange and now have a N73 it's the ME version in black. Thanks again.
