strange text messages

Hi there, I am new to this forum and have a question which i just cannot find a solution for!!

I have a 7610 and everytime someone leaves me a voicemail, i receive a blank text message, which is sent from D (imagine a 'D' with a small line through the straight part of the D) and the D has one square to the left of it and 2 squares to the right to it....very bizarre..and then once i have listened to the voicemail i get another text exactly the same straight after, though sometimes it comes through a few hours later...has anyone else heard of this?? and is there any fixes for it??

any advice would be appreciated...thank you!!

Welcome😊 Do you ask the network operator about that? Could be a network behavior... If not, check the firmware of that phone, try an upgrade with Nokia Service, and it should be in good shape again.

well...my network provider cannot fix the problem!! I have been referred right up to the technical team and even they haven't got a clue...all they've suggested is reset to factory settings, which didn't make a blind bit of difference...
now my next question is, how do i upgrade the firmware??
any help would be GREAT!!

For a 7610, the firmware update has to be done by a Nokia service/repair center: http://www.nokia.com/repair

Nevertheless, the problem definitely sounds like something network related (the operator's servers sending some kind of voicemail notifications). I doubt it is something that the phone does on its own (unless you have installed some app that does it, or someone else has installed something on your phone).
