JUST to find out i had already had the latest update.. i wasn't sure as i had just got the phone from ebay.. ANYWAY all i really want to know is CAN i do a hard reset and install the update again as all i want to do really is gt rid of the 'kin orange home screen on my n70!
any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

You can do the upgrade again. But a locked phone, with operator stuff, remains the same way after the new upgrade.

OH! so the orange home screen cannot be removed? it did disappear once.. not sure what i did tho.. being a new toy i was doing allsorts all the time innit!
there is no nokia stores near me to take it to... does this mean i am stuck with it u think?
