i tried formatting my mmc and it hang then i rebooted and the device says my memory card is corrupt and unusable. is there a way for me to get around this?

Maybe an MMC reader for a PC could help?
Can you see it in PC Suite with the 9210 connected? If so try format it in that.
If not then an MMC card reader may work.

Mate you are savable, I had this problem too. I will hunt the recesses of my mind for how I managed to finish the format. Have you tried rebooting the phone, then inserting the MMC, try and look at it in file manager and it should tell you it isn't formatted, and give you an option to format it.
