Hello
I want to use the Sat Nav side of the N73 in the car so whats the best GPS device for using in the car ?
I was wondering about the official Nokia GPS module for around 55 but there are cheaper alternatives for about 30 ?
Any suggestions ?

The BT-77 is a 16 Sat device which is widely available new on eBay. There are newer models that can pick up 32 Sats but the BT-77 is extremely solid, reliable and affordable.
I have one of the above and it has been faultless
Same here... BT-77, flawless performance, insane long battery life, and nice and Cheap. Discoutsatnav from ebay. If you get a more expensive model you will pick up more satelites (32) and probably have a quicker 'cold start', but for TOMTOM on your phone, go for it!
I heard from a fellow user that external GPS tends to disconnect rather quickly and frequently so he changed to Orbit (02).
If this is realiable, I might buy it. The thng is, what is THE best SatNav program (I guess TomTom) and would it also work in Europe? (kinda need it in Europe).
My BT-77 stays connected to my N73 perfectly. There were issues with early versions of the N73 firmware but no problems now 😊
And yes, TomTom is probably the best. I have tried Nokia Maps (Smart2Go), aMaze and Nav4All and TomTom knocks them all into a cocked hat 😊 And it covers Europe 😊
Does TomTom for Mobiles require a monthly subscription, or is it a one time payment when you purchase the mobile software?

One time payment 😊
Buy the software and use it as much as you like. However, you can subscribe to traffic alerts, weather information and speed camera databases. These are all optional 😊
BT-77 is 16 Channel and I heard that it doesn't work well indoors... You are prob going to ask me why the hell do I need to use it indoors... Well, it would be better if I can...
So can anyone recommend a hardware for me, which WILL work with TomTomV.6...
Speaking of which, it fails to load on my phone...
Damn it!
EDIT:
TomTom Mobile crashes when I try to start it up. I just install the thing (ie. only the Nokia Installer). Do I need to copy any other files onto it (I have lots of folders with names like ZIP, Western_Europe_Map, TomTom, Voices, RASTER etc etc... and files call current map.dat and ttnavigator.bif
this is the one i have Qstarz Q818 V1.31 Double 32 Ch Bluetooth GPS Receiver connects and finds sats within seconds and has neverlost connection yet far better than the BT ones for sure.
By no means is the BT-308 the 'best' device but it sure is a cheap and reliable device. I got one off ebay for about 20 quid and havnt had any problems with it yet. Works great with tomtom 6 =]
