Krisse has been playing an alternative to Nokia's free/built-in Snake variant. Do the powerups and boss levels take it past the more famous 3D version? Not really, the game looks and sounds uninspired and there are problems in the gameplay. Here's the review of Snake Deluxe.

Somebody should have told the authors that is they do decide to steal their in-game images from somebody else, Nintendo is *not* a good choice of a source. Not only many people remember how trees and grass in the GameBoy Zelda look, but the company has ...ummmgh... a certain reputation.
SNES version is similar, but the graphics there are a bit richer. These look more like scaled down graphics from Zelda DX (GameBoy Color version).
Hmm...
The tree legs in the SNES version look very similar to the ones in Snake Deluxe, but the Game Boy version has much simpler trees without the ridges on the legs:

Looks like a mix-and-match job =)
Oh I see what you mean...
It's like the outside is SNES, the inside Game Boy.
Same here, the first thing i thought when i saw the screenshots in your review was Zelda GameBoy. It's not necesserily a bad choice, i loved this game and this gives a cute retro look to the game but somehow it doesn't fit quite well with a snake game and makes it look like a 15 years old game.
