cannot connect to wireless access point/router with N95

Yes you can do it this way. When you create an access point you will need to change the bearer to WLAN from Packet Data.

It may be easier to use the wlan Wizard.

"define access point" creates an access point?

when i hit the "define access point", i get some text which says "internet access point" has been defined.

where can i change the bearer to WLAN form packet data.

i tried to use the WLAN wizard and when i click on the wlan wizard, i get the SSID of the network i want to connect to, i click on options (by using left button) or even the centre click button but i just get the following options
Start Web Browsing
Refresh
Details
Help
Exit

when you use the wizard and click on your wireless connection name you should get an option to define access point but ive just checked mine and it does not come up for the one i have already configured i just get the same options you do which probably means you have somehow got a access point for your wifi already its just setup wrong
id suggest deleting the old one and use the wizard to create a new one

i guess define access point does not connect to the access point but sets up some sort of profile
so i went to settings -->connection --> --> access points --> and then deleted the access points defined there.

and then when i go to wlan wizard has the option to define access point, so i define the access point but still my n95 is not seen by my router. now when i click "start web browsing", my router does see my n95. is there anyway i can connect to the router without doing "start web browsing"

does the known under the SSID mean that the N95 is connected?

what i wanted to do was associate the access point with my n95 so that i could stream content to my laptop.

I have the nokia n95, question is when i click on the internet button it says that it cannot to web after it finds my router, the connection keeps on refreshing itself. Any suggestions even though my phone is next to my router.

The router wont see the N95 unless its connected.
You can tell a WLAN connection is active because there be four dots (mini icon at the top of the screen).

When using web or any other program that uses a connection you need to tell the phone to use this access point (or have the access point setting in the program set always ask). See settings in Web for an example of this.

If you're looking to stream content onto the laptop its not directly possible to see the phone over a WiFi network in the sense of seeing it like another windows computer. Nor can you use wifi as a PC Suite connection. You can use UPnP - you need to use Simple Center on the PC and Home Networkon the N96 for this.

When i click on the WLAN scanning button, it says refreshing after that i chose the option of start web browser then i get a error message it says

Unable to connect
Try again

is an active WLAN connection the same as a connected WLAN connection

i am trying to stream content, and have downloaded the simple center, do i need to connect to the access point by clicking on "start web browsing"
or is there another way i can do it.

azzy, do you have a SIM card in the phone, just checking, perhaps the APN settings are not right. do correct me if i am wrong

probably you have to put in the APN settings for 02 (i think the APN is the same as a gateway)

i tried simple centre with pictures, and it works pretty nicely,

i tried to stream a video and it would not work, downloaded the premium edition, that still would not work. what i get is a screen on the phone which says simple centre and an image of a phone and an lcd screen. on the laptop i get his white image on a background, the image is like the top half of a phone.

the apn is asking me for pin code 2, what would that be

i got a new n95. i defined wlan access point. i tried to use various security settings available but all didnt connect to wlan.

i tried ad-hoc connection, open encryption type. now it goes to some extent but returns error saying ' no gateway reply'.

i have a secured wlan router. i would just need to connect to my wlan router and access internet from n95.

please help
