Nokia E50: Setting up hotmail

You don't, without giving your Hotmail username and password to some 3rd party like pop2hot or such.

It is because Hotmail does not support Internet standard email access; POP3 or IMAP4 for retrieving mail and SMTP for sending (unless they offer that when you pay them).

Other email services, like Google's GMail does support POP3 and SMTP, in case you wish to use that, instead (of Hotmail). The correct email settings you get from the GMail site and then you use the "Messaging" app to add/define a new mailbox using those settings and your network operator's "Internet Access Point".

You can use the "Services" browser to access Hotmail, too, however:
