Hi everyone,
I'd like to make my e70 more functional by getting some helpful accessories, such as a bluetooth/infrared keyboard, a stereo headset (or/and 3.5mm adapter) and possibly an fm-radio thingy for my car.
The problem is: I don't really know which ones to get. Can I opt for some cheaper non-Nokia solutions or should I invest a bit more and take the nokia products? Can you recommend a certain third party solution? Is sound quality really very bad when using an fm-transmitter to listen to mp3s in a car?
Thanks,
Martin
Can nobody help me?
Another question: Will the Nokia Audio/Video Cable for the N93(i) also work on my E70?
Thanks in Advance,
Martin

I can't help you exactly, since I don't have direct experience with most accessories on the E70 (that should change in a couple weeks, though), but my expectation is that Nokia-branded things that claim to work with the E70 should work with the E70.
I have used Plantronics Bluetooth headsets (two types, currently the Discovery 655) and the Stowaway Sierra keyboard successfully with a Nokia 3650. I've had my 3650 for over three years now, so it's not exactly new technology, and I would expect that it would be as easy to use these headsets with the E70 if not easier. (The Stowaway Sierra keyboard is large enough to support a number-key row and folds in four parts, but has to be unfolded onto a flat surface - lap may or may not work. There are other Stowaway keyboards billed to work with S60 - at least one each infrared and Bluetooth - and also a Nokia keyboard, which may not have a separate number-key row. When I bought my Sierra there wasn't yet a driver for the E70, but there is now, so I wouldn't worry about compatibility there. You can find Stowaway products at www . thinkoutside . com .)
I can report that the Nokia LD-3W wireless GPS module works pretty well with the E70. I have no frame of comparison, though - GPS is very new to me.
As far as FM transmission goes I can't be of much help, but you'll probably have read that the E70 lacks A2DP support which means that if you want to listen to your music in stereo you cannot use Bluetooth (which will give you mono only). That may or may not be a factor depending on what FM-transmission devices you've found (I've never seen one). I have a good pair of in-ear headphones for my iPod, so I would consider the Nokia AD-46 wired interface for myself. As I understand it, this has a Pop-Port plugin for the E70 at one end and a female headphone jack with an attached mike at the other, so I could use it with my headphones to hear music in stereo and also take phone calls. Some Nokia stereo headphones that work with the E70 lack a mike and must (I understand) be removed from the phone in order to use the phone as a phone. I've read reports that the Pop-Port gets loose and stops working well on the E70 if you're constantly plugging and unplugging into it. You might bear that in mind.
I do have a FM transmitter on my iPod which I've used in my car (which lacks an easily-accessible line-in jack or a tape deck, both better options than FM transmission for sound quality). My city has a pretty full radio spectrum, and I've noticed a high-pitched whine behind my iPod when I use the FM transmitter in this way - sometimes it bothers me, sometimes it doesn't. Now that we have Sirius (I opted for the directly-into-the-radio install option and bought a $20 cable that interrupts the antenna signal when the unit's on, so the sound quality's excellent) I don't use my iPod in the car much. You might consider using the Nokia AD-46 with a tape cassette adapter if sound quality's important to you and you have a tape deck.
Good luck...

No it will not.
With regards to other accessories... Generally its better if you stick to Nokia ones because of the quality and other reasons. For example the Nokia keyboard has the S60 keys on it - others do not. For audio adaptors third party is probably OK, but they're never quite as good (I have found) as the Nokia ones.
If you want to listen realy nice stereo music you can do two things:
1. Get a PopPort 3.5 addapter
2. Modify your stereo heandsfree (if you have one)
I choosed 2, and modified the headset with a 3.5 jack and my current earphones are now... the ones from Sony Erricson W810. The sound is simply astonishing, Sony did a great job.
