i recently flashed my N80 to the new N80ie firmware v4.0632.0.38 RM-92. around the same time i have stopped receiving notifications that i have a new text or voicemail. has anyone experienced this? i'm on cingular in the US and i've had them reset everything on my account and re-send all notifications and my phone simply wont display them.
whats more weird is it will send me a text message that i have several voicemails waiting, yet there was never a notification of a new voicemail and the voicemail icon never shows up. the same with text messages. i'll just open my inbox and i'll have like 5 new text messages...
any help with this? should i reflash the same firmware? all i did since the upgrade was install gizmoVOIP which i have since removed. everything else works fine...thanks
i just upgraded my firmware to 4.07 something, i will confirm later.. cant find the change log though so dont know whats new in it. can anybody else confirm a new firmware for the N80 internet edition?
I can confirm that there is a 4.0707.0.7 version available from NSU when I connected my generic N80 (modded from "3" to N80ie 4.0632.0.38 using NSS & then NSU).
I haven't updated mine yet though, waiting until others have tried it and I am sure I have everything backed up, etc. Or maybe curiosity will get the better of me before th end of today.

does my problem with no notifications sound like a carrier issue or a phone issue? i dont get any notification of new texts, they just show up on my phone...and same with voicemails; however i get a text message saying that i have a voicemail waiting...but no voicemail icon...
what gives??
Glad to find this forum. I have the same problem that developed two days ago. I have Cingular in the US and a Nokia 6682 with SymbianOS...though I don't know the version of the firmware...could probably find out by hooking it up to the computer?
I as well am not receiving notifications for txts or VM. Further, I receive the same text messages as do you now when I have a VM. And it does not notify me of txt messages either...they just appear in the inbox. I talked to Cingular tonight and they have no clue...not surprisingly. The "advanced tech support" had never heard of such a problem. When I put my sim card in my other cingular phone, it works no problem, so it's definitely a software issue on the phone. However I have not changed anything on the phone in terms of upgrades or whatever...it started to happen out of no where. Any ideas?

keep at it with cingular. you have a phone that they support so they will help you fix it. my N80, however is not supported by cingular so their response is 'well, you have an unlocked phone and we cant guarantee anything on it'.
please keep me informed because i'm getting really frustrated with it. i'm sure it has to do with me upgrading the firmware, but that's odd that it's happening for you without you changing anything. i have a feeling they have some issue with the mailboxes on their end and some of us got screwed up.
you'll probably have to deal with tech support on the issue but def keep at it...they'll help you fix you're 6682. i'm out of luck and have no ideas.
