I am moving from wm5 devices to the n95; am completely new to the Symbian OS. Can any expert advises me on the followings:
- Am trying out the Roadsync which however doesn't sync Outlook tasks/todos. How do I sync Outlook tasks/todo over-the-air?
- I have been using Phatnotes (notes) and ListPro (checklist). Are there something similar for Symbian OS? Essentially I need a notes editor that can sync with Outlook Notes and a checklist program that has a desktop counterpart so that I can sync them too ... For these two, there is no need to sync over-the-air.
- In Calendar, there are no field(s) of "invitees" or "attendees". Is this correct or do I miss anything? For the calendar in wm5, I can select attendees and send an invitation (via email) to the attendees for them to confirm. Thereafter, an appointment will be setup in Calendar. Is there anything similar down here?
Appreciate all expert opinions. Thanks.
Sorry mate, but you are in for a bit of a shock.
Feature and functionality wise they are very different. It's like comparing a motorbike with a car - one is cool looking, sleak, fast and has you mates wanting one (N95). But the other can do waaaaaaaay more (WM5). There is just so much more great software available for WM5.
i have an MDA and N95 and i love them both. But one is for general use and and is for serious use. I would not want to part with either, but if i had too the Windows Mobile would win hands down.
The biggest let down for me has been the uPnP. It's so wet and half arsed. I though i would be able to stream my music to my N95. I can with my MDA, i have 4 programs to do it and i plug it into my HiFi in the garden for instant access to my entire music collection stored on my PC. Great for BBQ'a. But with the N95, you have to copy the files to the phone first and the Music player is absolutely rubbish compared to the likes of Conduits Pocket Player on my MDA. I love internet radio streaming and streaming over uPNP, gapless playback and great format support.
The N95 has the power, will someone who makes all that great stuff of Windows Mobile please get on the case!!!!
Sorry, hijacked your tread a bit mate!
