N95 Operator to Generic Firmware Upgrade

It has been mentioned in another thread by Ratkat that some the Operator branded N95's have useful features removed. Such as VoIP.
I though it would be a good idea for any issues related to the upgrade process be posted in this single thread.

It's not currently possible to "upgrade" the N95 firmware to a generic release, as Nokia haven't yet provided user-downloadable firmware files.

Those who have flashed their N95s have done so using Pheonix, which is a powerful hardware / software package designed for use by phone retailers and support staff to recover failed phones. Neither Pheonix, nor the required N95 firmware files are readily available to the public.

The best bet for re-flashing a N95 to a generic firmware is to wait until Nokia release the first firmware upgrade, then use the NSS trick to change the product code on your N95.

I'm trying todo this at the moment, I have manged to change the product code, just waiting for nokia to release the firmware. Do you think this will be days, weeks or months?

jimster would you please do a txt walk through on how you changed you n95 product code ? including and links to files.

Thanks james.
