Hi Guys,
I paired my new N95 with the SE HBH-DS 970 and everything works as advertised except that the headset display does not show the name of the caller (just the number). This was a known problem with Windows Mobile devices but i wasn't aware that even Nokia's are plagued by this problem.
Everything else works exceptionally well, that is the AVRCP profile is simply fantastic and i'm able to play/plause skip tracks etc without any problems. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is?
Thanks.
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I would like to ask you a question - unfortunately I can't help you with the problem you seem to have.
How is the sound quality on A2DP and how is the battery life when using the headset to listen to music via Bluetooth?
Thanks in advance 😊
I've got the same Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset but as I only got my N95 very recently, I've only tried to listen to music via A2DP once...and when I did, there was a fairly regular interruption to the sound for a fraction of a second. Happened every 5-10 minutes or so.
I've not yet looked at the LCD display for calls etc except that I did notice the name of the MP3 playing wasn't displayed like it was with my K610i.

I also get frequent pauses on tracks using an E90 or a standard N95. I couldn't get the N95 to connect at all with the N95 8gb with its current firmware.
I also didn't get track id to work on either device. Has anyone tested using coreplayer for symbian to see if a2dp works better? I've paid for it and have the serial number but have lost the download link 😞
Tried Coreplayer on way back from work using a couple of MP4 videos I'd encoded.
Sound still played up but rather than pause it was like it kept repeating a miniscule section of audio over and over and over and over again very very rapidly until it sorted itself out.
So still not perfect A2DP via Coreplayer either.

It's pretty infuriating, but is it Nokia's fault or Sony Ericssons. Certainly the same problem prevails on more than one Nokia device.
I think Sony Ericsson should have said that Track ID etc doesn't work on anything but SonyEricssons. All it says on the box is 'display reveals song title, battery status and caller ID' with no mention of this being brand-specific. The site even lists non-Sony Ericsson devices -including Nokias - as compatible devices.
Windows Mobile 6 users do not have the same audio problem with this device. They also have a caller ID fix in the form of Jetware. I wonder if us Nokia users will ever be able to use our earphones properly or if they will be confined to the junk drawer....
Is it just me or sound quality between DS970 and N95 is really bad?
I mean, it's doesn't sound like the regular wired headphones
