I am planning to get the E65 .. but as always like i did with my previous phone .. 3660 .. i want to do a lil research before i get this baby.
1) Can i change the message memory from "Phone" to "MMC" and vice-versa ?
2) When they say WiFi, does this mean i can connect to an access point and start browsing ? like i normally do with a laptop ?
3) Is the Music Player Mono or Stereo ?
4) And finally, has anyone come across any problems with the E65 so far or would anyone like to suggest another good phone with a lil more better features ?
Regards...
Note that although the sound output in stereo the supplied headset in the box is mono. You can buy a stereo headset quite easily though (indeed you should be able to use the one from your 6660.
You might also want to check out the video review and text review on the main portion of the site.
Thanks for that quick reply guys ..
As for the Headset, can i use the 3660 headset ? And well i guess thats the only draw back of this phone .. or rather a packaging flaw ..
About the video and text .. do people have problems with jaggered video or no smooth playback of recorded video ?
The E65 isn't great for videos to be honest, nor is the camera that great. Should be an improvement over a 3660 though. If you;re playing back video recorded on the phone you should be OK, but for video you add to the phone from a PC you may have problems. The E65 is as good as the Nseries for that sort of video usage.
Just checked the N95 out .. as N/A suggested .. has it got WiFi too ? and Hotswap MMC ? the internal memory is 50 the site says so i guess there should be external memory interfact too rite ?
Hmm now i am in double minds :P so again whats the review of all these 3 questions i asked above for THIS phone ?
The N95 is a more powerful phone than the E65 - no question - the battery life is not as good though.
Yes N95 has wifi and hotswap memory card (its microSD like the E65). The internal memory of the n95 is 150mb I think.
Thankx again for that prompt reply rafe, so the only drawback of this phone is the video playback .. well i think i can live with it unless its not as bad as the vga phones :P the images would be pretty decent i think .. cause i had a friend with the motorola v3x and its a 2mp camera .. so the pics that came out were pretty good to be honest .. so i was satisfied with the camera .. But for the rest .. i need user inputs .. cause once i am stuck with this phone .. therz no looking back for a year or so 😊 ..
lol .. so between E65 and N95 .. which one should i go for .. because i just checked out the tech specs of N95 .. and they were pretty impressive .. with even Radio built in .. so which one would be suitable for the next 1 or 2 years according to u .. ?
It all depends on your needs.
Spec-wise N95 is better. However, try to think if you need all the extras - GPS, 5MP camera, built-in radio... How about battery time? N95 loses here, all reviews agree... Does the price difference justifies it for you to get the N95?
IMO both phones can easily last 1-2 years
It's up to you. 😊
m trying to set my mind off to E65, but the only draw back is the 2MP camera and no radio 😞. The N80 has 3MP camera and radio too. so now m in a fix.
One is the latest model and the other is good in built-in resources .. only if the E65 had a radio ..
I still have like 3 more days to decidebefore the weekend, so if u guys would be kind enuf to help me mke up my mind for the E65 or the N80, i'd be greatful. lol this choice is killing me. The N95 is way outa my league, as far as the price is concerned.
E65 .... N80 ..... E65 ... N80 !!!!
Well... First of all, go to a store, if you can, and play with both. See which one feels better to you. What the price difference is. They are very close spec-wise.
How about reading reviews here or at other sites/forums. N80 is very popular and already E65 has a lot of owners. You can find out about potential deal-breaker problems.
Sorry, can't help you any more, also trying to decide which phone to buy... :con?
lol, finally got the E65 !!! 😃 .. so far so good .. really happy with it. Just a little slow, dont know if its me or the programs pre installed .. will do a back up and clean up the phone, then prolly it might be faster.
Hi Guys,
I've currently got a Panasonic X700 and i'm about to get the E65. Whats the best method to transfer all my contacts, Inbox, To Do's, Calander, Notepad, etc?
Also as N/A had initally replied to dhanesh. About he E65 being able to be set to use the mmc to store the message inbox. How do you do this??
Cheers
Mikkleback 🙄
You could use Qxygen Phone Manager to do most of the backup jobs .. but u'll get more ideas if you ask around here.
To change the message box storage from phone to MMC go to : Messaging > Options > Settings > Other > Memory In Use

Hi,
Where can i d/l this prog?? Also as i mentioned i'd be wanting to get the info off my X700. Will this work to link both phones??
The x700 as i searched is a symbian phone too .. so this version of Oxygen Phone Manager for Symbian phone will work with your x700 too 😊
