Hi all I upgraded the missus' N73 for her today, thinking that a firmware upgrade would offer all the nice things like better battery life, perhaps stop the problems with it locking up when sending SMS messages etc.
However, it's removed the old Orange Homescreen and replaced it with a new one, which she hates.
Is the old one available anywhere to download as a theme? I've tried searching and can't find it, but she's going batty... I know I can't roll the software back without bricking the thing...
Any help appreciated.
If you're talking about the Orange specific home screen (icons running down the left hand side) then I'm afraid not. Its a custom bit of software and not a theme and its not available as a download.

I can't think of anything similar off hand I'm afraid.
Only way I can think of is flash it with a vanilla firmware.

Really all I'm looking for is the theme that Orange install. They don't have a homescreen as such they just have nice icons and the active standby turned on.
If anyone could point me in the direction of the Orange theme I'd be very grateful.

The only way to get this is to change your firmware to an Orange specific version. To do this, you will need to change the Product Code to an Orange one and then wait for Orange to release a newer firmware with a higher version number than what you have got.
Have you tried asking Orange ?
I've got an Orange(UK) branded N73 and there was no home screen on it. Just the active standby.
The only thing that came on my N73 was a special Orange theme.
