Not enough memory for N80I upgrade?

Hi, I am trying to upgrade my N80 to the N80I Version, I am following the instructions to the letter but as I am running Nokia software updater I am getting the message 'minimum memory requirement is 256 MB' I have a 1GB memory card in the phone with nothing on it... Help please :icon14:

I would take your mem card out, do a hard reset and then try to upgrade after that, a hard reset should clear your phone to factory conditions, which you will have after upgrading anyway,

Not sure why its saying about the minimum mem requirements

I cant remember the key presses for a hard reset, but do a search in this forum, or somebody will probably post them for you

i cant see why phone memory would have any effect on it, you sure the default drive on your computer has more then 256mb? because nss downloads the firmware to your computer first, then flashes the phone.

I think that this is my problem, on checking the memory status it says phone memory 21MB FREE and memory card 914MB FREE, so now I need to know how to change what memory (memory card and not phone memory) the updater actually looks for... sorry I am sounding a bit dim here. Thanks again for your help.
