When I first received my N95 from T-Mobile I found it kept on rebooting/restarting.
I eventually called up T-Mobile but they hadn't heard of this issue before and organised a replacement.
I've since discovered after several restarts (probably +/- 10 times) I got a message saying something like "Interactive Update Complete" or it might have been "Multimedia Update Complete". Needless to say, after receiving this message it rebooted one last time and have since not had the same problem.
Just thought I'd post this here in case anyone else comes across the same problem.
cheers
mine did the same thing when boxfresh (also on t-moby) - i assumed it was the battery not charged
so i left it over night and was fine in the morning - no problems since.
Glad to hear I was not the only one... 😊
For anyone reading this, the updates took about an hour or so for me, but that my have been extended since I had the phone off at times.
Best thing is to unpack, plug into charger, turn on and leave it until you get the update complete message.
I also had this. But I think the "interactive update complete" message refers to setting up your voicemail so that when you hold down 1 instead of it dialling 220, it dials your own voicemail access number.
However, my phone did also stop rebooting after I got that message. DId you try dialling voicemail as soon as you switched on the phone?
It could be a weird phone/SIM interaction issue I guess that sorts itself out after your SIM receives all of the provisioning updates from the network.
thanks, thats kinda what i'm hoping for. at the moment i have no network access at all so will just have to wait til tomorow when i get to activate it properly
I didn't try using voicemail until after I got the update message, so can't really say. The phone would reboot before I could do anything.. 😉
well its been connected to the network this morning and as if by magic the phone has become 100x more stable 😊
very odd....
I got a bit paranoid after all the reboots because it happened several times while I was in the middle of changing settings etc, so after it stabalised I did a full phone reset with a *#7370#. However, after I did so, I found on the Internet several references to certain things becoming permanently deleted or altered after doing so (such as Orange line 2 can be wiped forever).
However, I have not noticed anything missing so perhaps this kind of reset is safe these days.

Just to add that I noticed this too. When I first got my phone, I managed to get it to reset/crash several times - when I was using WIFI.
But after that first evening, I haven't had it crash since then. Don't know if I received some update overnight - I didn't see it getting any.
