After trying to upgrade the nokia N80 firmware, and getting upgrade complete from the nokia software updater, I tried rebooting the phone and keep getting the " phone start-up failed. contact retailer message". sometimes the phone wouldn't even turn on but the led would blink... is there anyway I can fix this or go back to previous firware version? the phone is not functional in anywa:frown: y... Even when I try to hook it to the USB it sais that is non recognizable. What can I do to fix this?
Any feedback is very much apreciated...

try the hard reset if its turning on even abit (most are pure bricks)
failing that take to a NSC
this is becomming common now, i no off 3 bricked phones from this upgrade in the last 2 days!!
makes me wonder about the next upgrade and is i worth the risk!!
You sure the phone is charged cause one time my phone was dead and i was trying to boot it up and i got scared cause it wasnt booting up and just showing a blue led blink. You would need phoenix to reflash it if in fact it is bricked.

Re-flash your phone with phoenix.
There's a guide on the forums. I killed my phone a few firmware revisions ago and managed to bring my phone back from an even worse condition that yours.

That's my post in an older firmware update thread. Have a read of the whoel thread too but hopefully with all the software installed you'll be able to follow the guide well enough to recover your phone.

NSU failed part way through mine. Arrrghh. Now just have an "unknown" malfunctioning USB device (which I guess is a basic bootstrap for flashing)
hi, prev i had upgrade from n80 to n80ie using phoenix and it work successfully
With the new firmware provided by nokia, i tried to upgrade it through nsu and half way through it hang. Currently i am unable to power it on or even tried using the phoenix to reflash it does not work.
Anyone can provide some advise? Thanks
