You point the camera over the barcode, and it automatically captures where the bar get to the other side.

I really don't see the purpose of this application..... It doesn't even work that well!!!!! :icon13:

This was posted before so use the search function. The barcode reader is used for matrix barcodes. In firefox there is a widget that allows you to create a matrix barcode for the website you are on. This is helpfull when the site has a long name or something. On a real barcode it would just say a bunch of numbers.

not alot f products have matrix barcodes...So it's a waste of your phone memory i think....now if it read normal barcodes it would be really cool.😎

If you read the other thread you'd see that I said the same as you, and was then told that it does read normal barcodes! (the program icon is a clue). Some people have got it working with normal barcodes but I never have. To be honest unless you could link the reader to a database it wouldn't be much use anyway. Reads the 2d ones brilliantly though, though that's not much use either

it reads normal barcodes, but its a real pain to get it to read them, have to be very well lit, and be able to focus it properly with the camera, its a lot easier to read the barcodes off ur computer screen.
