Not possible. When I call they don't hear me!

I don't know if it happens to you too but it's more frequent that when I call the person I've reached don't har me at all. I can hear him very clear but he don't. The only possible solution is to turn off the phone and restart it. My firmware version is: v 10..0.018 15-03-07 RM-159 NOKIA N95 (66.01). I've bought it in Rome and it's an imported one. I belive it cames from England.Have you noticed this problem? Thank's. Sorry for my English!

i had this problem for the first time last night, after a week or so of using the n95.. mine is a bog standard n95, direct from nokia so no operator stuff...

not worked out how to fix it or what problem is causing it yet...

i have had this problem as well, i have had the phone for a few days now. To solve the issue, need to restart the phone. Maybe a software issue or hardware, not sure

It's to be expected of a new Nokia, i'm just glad I'm not getting mine for at least another month. By then hopefully most of the severe bugs will be ironed out. Hopefully.

I have the some problem , but can I confirm something , It only happens to me when I'm using the "silent" profile .

If i change it to any other , General or meeting for example then I can be heard ok .

An undocumented feature 😮

I had this problem too. The only way to solve it was to goto the settings menu and change the caller ID display from Automatic(Network Selects) to Off. This solved my silent moments.

Mabsey

This is getting annoying now 😡

Still having the problem , to the extent that the phone is unusable now as I cannot be sure that I will be heard , I cannot find any way of even giving me an indication of the problem.

Even a reboot (!) appears not to solve the issue at times.

How many others are having this problem ? should I start calling Orange and requesting a repacement ?

Yeah I've had this too. It only happened a couple of times (so far) and that was about a week ago, within a few days of getting the phone. My solution was to restart the phone on each occasion.

Since then I've not had the problem again. It is rather worrying though and if it had continued (as yours appears to), it'd be winging its way back to Vodafone pronto.

I've also had this problem, which kinda sucks to say we have a phone worth in excess of £500. I'm going to see if it is the Silent mode which the bug appears to be present.

Maybe my silent mode was incorrect , I still got it after.

I've not had it that i can recall after getting my memory card (2GB ).

Could this be a clue ? those with the problem have you got a memory card in ?

Doubt it. My problem just went away, like I said about a week ago. Only fitted a 2gig card today.

I've had this problem with my n80 and now with the n95. The solution that i found for both was to disable dual mode in network option. Now i only have gsm selected. This problem happened to me when i lost 3g signal and went back to gsm during a phone call.

Am I so glad to find this thread !

I thought it was me being and idoit I have a phone that does everthing except one basic function allow phone calls !

When I made a phone call I can hear person but they cannot hear me I thought it was sometiing I had done in fact when this happened it shows green information sign and says active divert ??? How can I have an active divert when I make a call .

Went into Diverts and checked and cancelled all of them still got same proplem so did a factory reset 12345.

This appears to have cured it for present and now can hear can talk to peop's but still get Green active Divert warning !

Any Clues Welcome.

I'm also having problems with the calls hanging and the N95 restarting, and then people not hearing me when making/receiving calls.

Sounds interesting. I'll try it out and hopefully it will work 😊 - I'll post back here too. Ive noticed my 3G Orange coverage is always dropping and going to gsm randomly, which I expect anyways, and this is the only problem I'm having with the phone (but it's incredibly annoying).

O.K I think this has worked 😊 I'm not to sure how many people have had this problem, but I have had three N95's now to try and solve it. I changed the call > network settings to Network mode: UMTS (or try GSM as Silves suggested) and Operator Selection: Manual (and selected my network). I also read in another thread how themes (and possibly ringtones you use) should be on the phone memory and not a memory card you may have - but I'm not to sure on this one really. Anyways my calls don't cut off anymore, the phone doesnt restart mid call and people can always here me (without having to switch the phone on and off). Obviously very annoying, but now my N95 works great :icon4: I just hope people find this thread like I did.

Dunno if hte above works but i'll give it a go. I'm quite surprised noone else tried this but the first time someone couldn't hear me i stuck the fone on loudspeaker. As soon as i did that they could hear me so i hit the "headset" button to change it back to the fone and it worked fine.

Its happened to me 3 times so far and each time i hit "loudspeaker" then "headset" and it sorts itself. I've also noticed that it only happens with incoming calls for me. Calls i make seem to work fine.

Hope that also helps some of u guys out.

Scott =op

Same issue as Scott-incoming only and using loudspeaker-headset works. Happened two times thus far-only from the one number mind (an Orange). Bloody annoying mind. Least it could do is work properly as a phone!

I got this problem too (just once so far, thankfully).

I thought it might be a network issue, so switched from dual mode to GSM only... didn't make any difference - they still couldn't hear me!

Restarting the phone cured the problem and it has not happened since (yet!)

I was wondering... is there a 'mute' function on the phone that we are somehow triggering by inadvertantly pressing one of the many buttons along the side of the N95? - I am always hearing bleeps during calls when I accidentally press the camera shutter key!

Steve

Have the same problem with 2 N73s from the same batch, one with O2 firmware and one flashed with the latest N73 ME software. People ring, or I ring out, and I can't be heard. By the time I reset my phone and call my customer back, they have gone on to the next person in the Yellow Pages 😡 . I'll have to remember the loudspeaker trick.

Also my phone will just crash when using the menus or even when idle, and *every* time I switch on my O2 Blue bluetooth headset (making it diffilcult to legally answer calls on the road!)

Why on earth did I still 'upgrade' to an N73 after my bad experience with my N70? :frown: I don't really want to bash Nokia as I had an 8210, 6130 and 6110 - - all pretty reasonable phones (they made calls and sent SMS), but I've lost all confidence and feel quite bitter that I could have 18 months of this before a replacement!
