Keeping in touch on a bike trip

Hi

I'm new to all things Symbian but am looking to purchase an N95 as, at last, it could be the single device I need. 😎

In May I'm going on a motorbike tour of Italy, so the camera and GPS/Map functions look fantastic. 😊

As a Symbian newbie I have some questions!

I also need access to my office Windows XP PC while on holiday :frown: --can anyone tell me if programs such as RDM+ (Remote Desktop for Mobiles) would work OK on the N95? Are they any good?

Would this sort of program be able to work on a Wi-Fi connection, e.g. in an Italian cafe? as normal dial-up abroad would be very expensive!

My motorbike has an intercom system to which phones can be connected with a cable for answering and charging--as the N95 is so new, does another Nokia phone have a similar connection so I can get the correct cable and would the N95 be charged via this? Don't want to lug a charger around Italy!

The T-Mobile plans with web'n'walk look about the best for Internet access in the UK, does anyone disagree?

Apologies for so many questions but an N95 is quite an investment and I want to make sure it's right for me.

Many thanks

Kevin

you can read a short review of rdm+ here, i don't know if it works with the n95 though

data connections usually use the access point list in the settings of your device, so all connections (wifi included) work with all programs

AFAIK there's a small adapter for older chargers shipped with the n95, in case your bike has such a connector. the charging port is the same used by all nokia devices since the n70. i don't see a reason why it couldn't be charged with your bike

Thanks, the review of RDM+ was helpful and Shape Services have other software that I would be interested in too, for connecting to the office.

Glad to know about the wi-fi connection--hopefully access is not expensive in Italy.

I'll be shopping for an N95 tomorrow and will find out about the charger then!

Thanks for your input.
