Does anyone know if I can download the Nokia maps to my laptop, as opposed to the memory card/phone directly.
I travel a lot and could easily forget to down load a particular map for a destination. I would much prefer to be able to download all of the maps to my laptop and then transfer them as and when i need them to my phone. The downloader program only lets me select the phone as the storage location though... Any bright suggestions?
Cheers
Andy
You might be able to download to a memory card and then copy that back to a PC, but I'm not sure of the practicalities of this.
Map Loader supports either a phone or (in theory - not tired myself) a memory card in a USB reader.
In theory it should be possible though the map loader is a bit messy and disorganised as to how it puts the files on the phone. I put my microsd in a sd adaptor and then in a card reader and the map loader picks this up fine.
I am sure these files could then be copied on to the pc and transferred when needed.
Well, I've been running a maploader download of England & Wales since yesterday evening - several restarts just in case - but although it says its downloading, all that happens is that the time-to-go indicator winds up - clearly no downloading is occurring.
Any ideas please?
from where did you download the maps ?
From wherever Maploader sources them - the application doesn't tell you.
Another try later this morning entirely successful; The Nokia site must have been down last night
Thanks for your help
