N95 Memory Card...Good speed ?

5 replies · 8,819 views · Started 11 April 2007

Good afternoon,

I am picking upi my N95 by the end of this week and will be looking to upgrade the memory card to 2gig.

Can anyone recommend a good site or mainly a good make as I have made a mistake with slow read /write speeds on my N90 and the video recorder became unuasable !

I'm not sure what a good read / write speed should be ?

Thanks in advance

Mark.

Hi BRiLL,

I have a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB MicroSD which I find is more than adequate. Read and Write speeds are 10Mb/s and 9Mb/s repectively and come with a 10 year warranty.

If you found any cards that were faster, I wouldn't have thought you would see any difference in a mobile phone. I use Extreme III's and IV's in my cameras but these are buffering huge amounts of data and transferring them quickly to improve workflow - their speed here would doubtfully be noticed.

Most generic memory cards for phones and cameras are around the 3Mb/s mark so you should really see the difference with one of these Ultra II's.

I got one from Emartbuy for about £25 though they seem to have gone up in price. Ebay is a good bet but make sure it is genuine and retail boxed.

I agree, and I am waiting for a 2Gb Sandisk Ultra II from the same ebay seller.
I paid 30.50 inc. P&P & VAT.
