Sync email from outlook to a Nokia E62

Hello,

I have a Nokia E62, but I do NOT have a data plan for it.

Is there any software that will synchronize my emails from a program like Outlook, to my phone via the data cable?

Thanks,
Clem

You mentioned the data plan - does this mean you would have the means to sync if you had a dataplan? If you have an internet connection on the pc you are connecting the phone to with the cable you can use that internet connection through the cable. This works fine for retrieving pop emails and for using apps such as gmail.

Where are your emails stored?

Not necessarily (that I know of).

I just wanted to be able to get the emails to my phone without having to have a data plan.

I did not know this. How do I tell my phone to use that internet connection (if that is a setting I have to change) when connected through the data cable?

The other problem with doing it that way, is if I download my POP emails to my phone, then I can't download them again to my computer can I (doesn't it mark them as already downloaded)?

I assume you mean how do I get them.

I have several POP3 accounts.

I've written an HOW-TO here: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/48901/

Note that the method described should work fine if your PC is connected to a LAN or wifi network but you might need to do some more tweaking if you're connected via a wired broadband modem (the replies in the thread might help).

The vast majority of POP3 servers do not mark emails as downloaded and allow emails to be downloaded as many times as you want via POP3. So you would be able to download your emails on both your phone and PC. One notable exception is GMail's POP3 server which is quite buggy and non-standard compliant and will cause you loads of trouble if you try to access it via both your phone and PC. I'd recommend to use another POP3 server. I'm personally using the French Yahoo Mail POP3 server and it works pretty well (with a few hours of downtime once every few weeks).
