Hi just got my N95 yesterday and went out and bought a 2Gb Integral card today. Card seems to show in phone memory ok, and I've set camera files to be stored to card. The problem is that when I enter into Gallery to view videos or photos taken from camera, or even pics downloaded to Phone Card from internet; All I see are early files taken and stored to phone memory.:icon13:
Files are accessible in File Manager, an videos can be played in Real Player, but surely they should all appear in Gallery?? Can anyone help out here with an answer. I know it may be a possibility that the Integral Card i bought is pretty down-market, so I've ordered a Sandisk one which will hopefully sort this prob out.🙄
Well, Wishy, I have posted elsewhere that some bits of PC suite, notably the application manager and also Maploader can't see my card either - I have the original provided by Nokia.
As with yours, WE can see it without a problem
I'm rather hoping Rafe might notice this and give us his advice!
Ahem - I must try and clone myself so I can be in three places at once 😊
On the phone:
Not sure about this one - yes they should appear. I'd suggest a) rebooting the phone b) taking the memory card out (wave it about a bit) and put it back. Sorry I can't be more helpful. The ultimate thing here would be to rest the phone - a bit of a pain.
From a PC:
With regards to Map Loader - you must put the phone in Mass Storage mode not PC Suite mode in order for the Map Loader software to 'see' it. For File Manager in PC Suite you should use PC Suite mode (also for Image Store, Music Manager and other PC Suite components). For Windows Media Player you use Media Transfer mode.
Thanks for the insight Alastair. I have a similar problem in that Maps do not load using Maploader. My main worry is on the phone interface, I can't see any videos or pics stored on mem card in the Gallery?!
So sorry, Rafe, to have to ask you to clone - but it would be really helpful!
I think I have looked everywhere I can think of, including remembering that 'the search command is my friend', to find out how to put the phone into mass storage mode - without success; even googled it!
What's the trick, O Wizard? It sounds like it's possibly the answer to the problem!
Plug one end of USB cable into (switched on) computer.
Unlock phone keypad
Plug other end of USB cable into phone.
Phone should display a menu with the following items:
PC Suite
Mass Storage
Image print
Media Player
Select the mass storage option.
If the menu doesn't appear, there is either something wrong with your phone or which ever operator branded your phone decided that the ability to do what you can do through PC Suite anyway, but quicker and easier is simply to much for them to allow (probably the easier bit that got to them 😉).
Oh, I supposed you could also try Tools -> USB and make sure the USB Mode is set to Data Transfer and/or Ask on connection is set to yes as well.
