Hi Mate.
did you try to fix the wobbly slider as shown in the pictures. I am thinking of trying the same thing, did you use sellotape or something else.
Hi,
I just used this method to fix my slider and it worked great. I used a spare piece of screen protector that i had left over. If you have got a wobbly slide its definatly worth the fix.
does this fix the up and down wobble Bscott?
If anyone does this could they take a couple of new pics or a video. On my second N95 because of the slider and dont want to drive all the way back up as all the phones had the same loose slider
Looks a sensible fix. Not too risky. Can anyone tell me the size of the torx bit required for the side screws? Cheers

The torx size you need is T5.
But I can't get past even the first element, i.e. removing the back slate (sand or plum). Can anyone tell me in which direction you're supposed to move it and how will it feel etc. I don't dare to use more force that I currently do.
I wish someone would film it...
take off the battery cover and remove the battery then just unclip it from one of the sides, then do the other side. there are just some very small sticky pads holding it on. it really is that simple.
Yup-agree. Just "push" the top edge over the front on the one side, and then the other will come. There is a bit of resistance from said sticky pads. Not wanting to be rude, but how do you know it is a T5 if you haven't removed the rear cover yet? 😊 Just that visually I can see there are two different sizes of torx bits used on the rear alone....
I still can't get over the use of double sided sticky pads! It just seems so cheap! Sticky pads can lose their stickiness especially if you are remove and refitting or replacing a new back cover!

I succeded (that part, but then had only a T6 torx, so I have re-do it tomorrow!)! Now, something different: I notice that my backslate (sand or plum) is a bit wobbly to. It isn't perfectly tight towards the rest of the phone. It only concerns the lower part. Do you have that too?
I know that there was a small gap even before I started, but now I get nervous that I made this worse by removing the backslate (I had to bend several times although never severly). Is it possible that I have "widenened" the plastic of the backslate in the process or must it have been like that from the beginning? (It's not really bad, but a little annoying.)
Concerning the T5 torx, I simply read that in another thread: here.
You are asking if the sides of the back cover press hard against the sides of the phone shell from top to bottom. The answer is no. I see its a little bit out in a couple of places which suggests the mould isn't perfect. In particular I see it goes out a bit near to the memory card door and I can feel a bit of a movement if I squeeze it there.
Constant pulling on it may make it worse, but it definitely wasn't perfect to start with!

Also, you can now buy spare parts for the N95 here. You can even get a plum, sand och warm graphite back cover if you want to shift once in a while.
