Hi guys,
I just wondered if there was a way I could get rid of that annoying O2 welcome animation with the graphic when I turn on the phone?
Is there anyway I can get rid of the equally annoying O2 goodbye graphic when I switch off?
I guess there's no chance of getting rid of the Nokia animation? Is it just me that thinks it looks like some adult grabbing a kid by the hand to take them to "see some puppies"?
*shudder*
Fairly easy, one way to do it is changing the product code to one from an unbranded phone then waiting until Nokia release new firmware. Then you can use the Nokia Software Updater to essentially trick it into thinking you have an unbranded phone and it will download that instead of the network branded firmware.
You'll have to wait though as there is no new software currently available.
Hard way is to flash the phone yourself with using some service centre tools to unbranded firmware but I think that's out of the scope of this thread, I'm sure you could find the info with a search though.

I have upgraded my standard Orange UK firmware today to the generic version and all the missing features are there. Beware of the usual risks of doing this - its really at your own risk. I had no problems though, it worked very easily without any hiccups.
