:frown: 😡 :frown: Hi all got my N95 last night finally after waiting for Carphone Warehouse!

Anyway, how the hell does the headset work?? I can't use any of the controlls. Can't find anything in the manual. Please help, i think it could be faulty. Was going to take it all back tonight but dropped the phone this morning and have now put a little mark on it :frown: 😡 :frown:

Hi Taz,
Have you tried launching Music Player or Media Gallery then using the buttons on the headset? I think the buttons on the headset are like the ones on the multimedia flip side of the N95 (if you open it to show the forward/back etc buttons).

When you plug in something to the headphone jack on the side of the N95, it usually asks you what it is (Headphones/TV out etc). Are you seeing this?

If you dont see that menu pop up when you plug the headset in, try either the TV-out cable or another set of just normal 3.5mm headphones to see if those work.

If you're not seeing that menu pop up at all when putting things in the 3.5mm socket on the side it may be the headset or socket that's a bit faulty.

Hope this is some help.
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi steve,

I am plugging in the two parts and selecting the Headset option, i do get the menu.

I have tried headset and headphones options but still the buttons dont work. I couldn't even get my wife to hear me when using the headset during a call.

Should i taske it back to Carphone warehouse?

I have exactly the same problem with mine... Buttons do not work and the person on the other end of a call cannot hear me.

You should take it back to CPW, and get it replaced. Unfortunately, they may have to replace the whole handset too as they are not always allowed to open the boxes.

Well if they won't just replace the media remote then i will have a new phone with out a mark on it 😎

Its up too them.

Thanks guys

I have the same problem with a none-working headset. My dealer replaced the headset, but even the new one did not work. I think this may be a problem in the N95 and not the headset. I will try to find another N95 user with a working headset to investigate further.

I had the exact same problem with my first N95 (which also had wobbly slider so it was replaced). When headset was plugged in the menu came up but none of the buttons would work; was still able to listen to music through headphones plugged into the headset though.

With my new N95, when the headset is plugged in nothing comes up, but everything works automatically. I was somewhat confused, but maybe the headset is supposed to be recognised automatically, and the only reason my first headset triggered the option menu was because it was faulty and didn't get recognised.

I have the exact same problem with my headset with my N95 from carphone warehouse

There seems to be cropping up alot. Maybe nokia should put out a recall for certain headsets.
