Bluetooth - gps receiver & handsfree

Looking at getting a gps receiver, but can the n80 pair to 2 devices at the same time, i.e. a handsfree kit in a car and a bluetooth receiver?

If it can, where does the sound of say TomTom come out of - if the n80 is paired to my car kit (bmw bluetooth) when I play a sound/video with sound file I get no sound the car kit doesn't enable audio out through the stereo unless a call is in place.

My N80 can pair with my BT GPS receiver and also my Plantronics BT headset at the same time. The TomTom sounds come through my headset (until a call comes in).

Thanks for the reply - I've no idea if I'll get any sound out when paired to the bmw car kit as if I play any sound on the phone it doesn't come out of the car kit, only voice does when a call is connected. Guess I'll find out when the receiver comes next week....

I would like to use handsfree, as in the speakphone - but if I answer the phone from TomTom I can't seem to switch it to loud speaker ? ??
Cheers Gerrry

hi ajp558,

this is a bit off topic, but does your n80 stream stereo sound to your BT headset? did you manage to get a2dp on your n80?

Hi Karlo,

Sorry but the N80 can't do stereo bluetooth - A2DP.

I have a couple of stereo BT headsets as well as single in-ear ones which are the ones I use with my N80 for phone calls only. The stereo ones can pair but its definitely not stereo and the sound quality is appalling.

It's a shame about the lack of A2DP on the N80 - a cheaper Nokia 6233 I got at the same time was recently upgraded with a new firmware over NSU and that upgrade includes A2DP and it sounds great.

If the 6233 can have A2DP enabled with a firmware upgrade then maybe its possible for N-series as well (but I doubt it somehow).
