Can anyone help me please?
I have an N80 with V 4.0707.0.7 and I am using home WLAN and the standard Messaging/Email application to download POP3 email from both Gmail and 1and1. I am testing that all this works okay before splashing out on "3"s X-Series so that I can use the N80 to get emails, surf the internet and use internet radio while away from home.
The current WLAN setup works well for small emails, but every time I try to retrieve a simple text email which is about 600Kb in size I get the following error "General: memory Full. Close some applications and try again".
This happens even after the phone has been re-started and I have no other applications running. Free memory is reported as 24Mb in the standard Nokia file manager and 14Mb by X-plore's Device Info tool.
I have also tried changing the Message settings to use memory card but I assume that this only applies to SMS texts and multimedia picture messages rather than emails?
Is there a limit on the size of emails the N80 can retrieve even if one has plenty of free memory (both phone and memory card) and is there a better email client which will allow me to retrieve emails direct to the memory card and still works well with "3" if I sign up for X-Series?
