i just got my phone and so excited about it. however, would any1 know what key is it asking me specially when i am trying to search for a WLAN network.

hmm, how about search the other 101 threads here or read the shiny manual that came with your phone...
not trying to be rude but its all in the manual mate
the wep key should be found on a sticker on your router, or if the wifi signal isn't yours it will be encrypted so you cannot access it.

If you've defined your access point - tools / settings / connections / access points .. you can edit its settings, change the wep key type / value etc.
This of course assumes you actually know the type of security you are using and have the keys .. heh :redface:
