Anyone knows, why S60v3 phones like N73 and N80 have, for me, a great mistake on basic operation, like the Time Zone...
London and Lisbon, both GMT time, appears like GMT+1 time.
When we set a meeting on N80, for example to 9h, and send the meeting to 3230, or 6151, the meeting appears like 8h.
Why?
London and Lisbon is GMT, NOT, GMT+1.
3230 and 6151 are set correct, but not the modern N73 and N80.
Why such kind of basic mistake (at least it appears like one)?
Time Zone between S60v3 and other Nokia phones
depending on when you set the time tho for LON/LIS the GMT will be +1 (i.e. British Summer Time) as the hour is added on due to the date for summer time and then again auto removed at the end of summer time.
Maybe its trying to be too clever? I can guess that that may be the issue... ?
it was in the DTS fix offered by nokia before the newest firmware release
before then it was gmt now gmt+1 but wh care just set te time
Thanks for the answer.
On N80 (N73 is the same) the selection is only by location, without any other variable. UK - London, and it give GMT+1.
I test like kontraband said, and is like that. In fact the problem is summer time.
On 3230 or 6151, since the first is S60v2 - OS7 and the second S40, the selection is to put the time zone, GMT (for UK) and after that set the hour.
So the solution for the other two phones, maybe is to put, on summer, on GMT+1 or GMT and after that, set up the phone?
Anybody knows?
yeah, I dont think there is a 'solution' to the incident, just a work aorund 😉
The nokia release RE summer time I think only related to the US and Cananda who changed the days they said the colcks were going to change.. but I can be corrected on that if someone knows better.
Yea... try and error thing! On N80 theres nothing to do.
The only way, is work around with the others, and try to find the way to put the things correct.
