My question to the GPS experts is how can I change the coordinates format from degrees ddd.dddd (default) to dd.mm.ss more commenly used format?
Any thoughts will be helpfull!! Thanks

I installed Mobile G Maps .. for a couple of reasons .. the one that comes with the N95 isn't that high res for my location and it has a couple of placename spelling errors. It also has the Hybrid maps .. so you can see a satellite image of your location.
Anyway .. I tried to find the GPS coordinate change in the default mapping application, doesn't look like you can do it.
In Mobile G Maps .. its in settings / GPS Setup / Other settings .. options are
DD`mm'ss"
DD`mm.mmm'
DD.ddddd
the ` is actually the degree symbol but couldn't be arsed finding it 😃
so hope that helps!

seki.. thanks for the info my friend..
I already have Gmaps on my device.. I tried changing the coordinates but i couldnt find OTHER SETTINGS under the Settings/GPS :con?
also a disadvantage of Gmaps is that u have to be connected to the internet to keep seeings the maps.. the default mapping sofware is more flexiable where u can store desired maps direct from the PC or ur wifi network ..
anyway.. thanks again buddy
Gmaps will have offline mapping in a "month or less". I.e. you can download the maps on a PC first them copy to the phone/memcard and you wont have to have the slowness and expense of downloading them over GPRS/3G all the time 😊

These guys have already done what I was re inventing about an hour ago!
Run a mobile web server on your N95 .. put all the mapping info into it .. configure your mobile mapping app to look on the local web server and presto! independence.
