Hi all,
I was very impressed with Battery Life when using TomTom6 GPS + bluetooth TT GPS receiver.
After 2 hours driving, I still had 75% battery life remaining.
With my previous handset, (Nokia N80), 2 hours GPS use would have left my batter with 25% or less remaining.
Anyone have other experiences of battery life with GPS usage?

That not bad, but there is a wide spread misconception that batteries and battery indicators are completely linear. I.e. the next 25% could run down much faster than the first 25%, even if your usage has not changed. They are not that accurate - while they may tell you how much battery you have left, but you can't totally sure how long it will last, it's a bit of technical guess work.
I would be interested to see what the difference is when using the internal GPS when tomtom release a compatible version. I.e. how much an active bluetooth connection uses Vs the Internal GPS. I'm guessing that internal would win, but could be wrong.

That's a fair point. Does it clarify the situation if I say that I didn't charge my N95 last night and at 5pm this afternoon, still had 2 bars battery strength?

Hmmm. Interesting question. Does the N95 bluetooth transceiver take more or less power to run than the internal GPS receiver? I think only time will tell!
I always found that the first and last bars run down far slower than all the ones in between. I guess that makes sense though, since the calculations are just estimates.
