Is Microsoft going to release a version of MSN that works on the symbian OS?

Would love to have an official version running on my phone.

What does everyone recommend as a best alternative at the moment? Free if possible please? :icon14:

Theres already a lot of messenger applications for S60v3. Check on software section of this site.

I was looking for suggestions from other ppl who use the other clients, and to see if anyone else might know if MS plan on giving us the client itself for Symbian OS's.

You have several free. I dont remember all the names, but could be eMSN, Quick IM, Hier.sis and others...

there's on available from nokia.hk - the link is here somewhere i believe. this is the official msn for symbian. is a lot more stable and user friendly than the others about written in java etc.

Cool, I never realised you could actually do this... Is the one downloaded from the Nokia site in chinese?

Also is anyone on Orange with a Web bolt on... if so which bolt on do you have? Thanks

Works pretty well! 😉

If I were to add a 4MB allowance to my Orange contract... roughly how much time could I use messenger for? Thanks agin

If anyone is wondering (cos I was) you can enter a non-hotmail address even though it says '@hotmail.com' after the username entry area. Just type the full address and that text changes to 'other email'.
I've used it with my gmail-based live account and it works fine

I've downloaded the app, and I've got it running. However, when I try to connect through the WLAN, it has problems signing in, or doesn't sign in should i say. Does anyone know why? I get the time-out error. Thanks again

Mine works via my WLAN so I cannot help other than to say its not impossible with this program

Update - I've logged in, and once out of about 10 times has it shown my contact, all the other times it just loads with a blank screen and my e-mail addy at the top... Looking excellent at the minute tho 😃

I just went to test the "official" client .. and it sure looks like it.

It was working 2 days ago.

Same here seems they have caught on. I guess they don't want symbian phones outside of china / hong kong / taiwan from having msn, except for their Windows Mobile Phone devices.

It's not that they don't want symbian devices using it, its because they want to charge you for the luxury or using it. Any money they charge us a subscription cost or one off charge for the luxury of developing it. :frown:
