I had a mess around with my mates N95 the other day and I thought it'd be just as slow as my N93 but that thing went like a rocket. It even had all the 3D effects and stuff in the GUI and yet still went way faster than my N93. Would it be possible to get this kind of speed improvement cos I can't be the only person who groans when they press one of the soft-keys accidentally and you have to sit there and wait for the thing to load just so you can close it again.
Would this be something that comes from the N95 having more memory? Last thing I checked the N95 had a 302mhz processor while the N93 has 330mhz.
Well i think the diffrence in N95 is that it has a new 3d chip and some other extra things..
But i hope N93 get a update soon, i only had the phone for 3 weeks and its the buggiest thing i ever used. I even crash more then Win 95 did !!!
All third party programs works fine, but smart2go crash as soon as i go to earlier adresses. Podcast from Nokia crash if u download more then 2-3 podcasts, probably cant handle the amount of files or something.
The battery time last only for like 12 hours with every feature turned off !!! I know its something wrong, lasted for more then 1.5 days when i was using the wlan camera e.t.c in the beginning.
Its a brick but i love it, i just want the crashes and bugs to go away.
The N95 and N93 have essentially the same ARM 11 based TI 2420 application processor running at 332MHz:

The major difference probably comes from S60 3rd Edition (S60 3.0, Symbian 9.1) on the N93 vs. S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (S60 3.1, Symbian 9.2) on the N95.
No S60 3rd Ed. FP1/Symbian 9.2 upgrades for the N93.
The N93 is just as fast as the N95. I have the two here side by side. If your N93 is slow then that's a separate issue. What apps do you have running all the time? Photo uploaders, anti-'virus', anything like that?

I have no software running all the time apart from bluetooth and the wlan finder thing set to check every five minutes. I have a memory card but it's that 2gb Sandisk Ultra 2, the fastest available when I bought it.
My N93 is slow too, in the beginning it wasn't, but as I installed more and more software it got some new turtle-like(tm) features. I'm gonna test formatting the memory card unless nothing else helps, not that big of a deal since I won't be losing any contact information or anything.
No need, just take the card out. Much faster way to test.

it might be to do with your memory card (i have a play.com cheap 2gb sod when i could have a sandisk ultra 2 or somethin flashy) or your battery because when my battery gets low it has problems loadin the gallery properly, and then started generally slowin down... then again i was well drugged up so i wasnt usin my phone responsibly for battery consumption (for example leavin programs runnin in the background, constantly forgettin to turn the camera off etec)

Me too, I'm thinking about just getting a simple phone for now, I haven't used any of it's advantages for ages, not installed anything. I keep looking at news about the iPhone and that thing sounds bitching but without 3G or GPS I think I'll be waiting for the second generation.
I wanna just get rid of my N93 and contract and get a Nokia 6500 Classic (http://img.gsmarena.com/w/newsimg/07/05/nokia-6500/gsmarena_008.jpg) to tide me over, but I'll wait and see if the rumours about Europe getting a different iPhone to the US are true.
