Try Fring... Good to handle several SIP clients like Skype.
if you are used to using skype..and already have skypecredits etc. you can use Iskoot. Its very easy to use, it lets you log into your already existing skype account 😉
yeah, id say Fring too... for that stuff, but then I have been promoting it here and there. 😉
theres a few clients... if you have a quick search I think most are mentioned on this forum somewhere?
Truphone also prob worth a mention - free calls to landlines at the moment and integrates well with n80ie.
I like Fring - but more because of the support for Gtalk and MSN as well, downside is that your battery life is killed, and it seems to be Wifi only (?) or is it just through 3 thats true ... If I am honest, thats when I want it though...
Fring also work by GPRS / 3G.

yeah, that seems to be just true of 3?! Not sure why... I dont think Fring did any testing with a 3 crippled phone! ;O)
As for truphone... very worth mentioning at this point!
Ah - interesting ... but they do let you use the iskoot app using the normal channel as opposed to VOIP - which is a major plus if you have the app (can't make outgoing calls unless you upgrade though)...

truphone as improved so much, now connects seamlessly wherever i got and it can connect, free calls to land lines atm is such a great thing i phoe so many landlines trhough the day i hardly use my credit anymore between VOIP and free txts
shame the N95 aint as good lol
fring i havent tried since last time i had it it was buggy as
When I try to connect my calls through truphone they always seem to take about 50 - 60 seconds to connect, but now I have my truphone account set up with fring, the calls always go through immediately ... and the call quality is crystal ...bloody strange ....
can iskoot works in WIFI environment?
Thanks
I am now using iskoot, it works great over WiFi.
Thanks for all your help.

is truephone FREE to usa and canada/india?
zainman wrote:how is the receiving part working in fring (when using truphone)? all i use truphone for is to receive calls and when i use the phones SIP program, truphone is crap most of the times! help?
Its fine, much better than the native client or the truphone connecting app, I only use fring now for all my calls including making and receiving truphone calls.....I have x-lite also on my computer with truphone working both making and receiving calls which means I dont need wifi connected to my phone when at home or the office to receive sip calls 😊..which saves my battery life immensely :icon14:
come on...how come they NEVER put india on the list ?!?!?!?!?!
iSkoot does not use the phone's wi-fi function. You pay for the call to iSkoot's server which connects with skype for the voip part of the call. It is not suitable for roaming.

check skypho, the italian answer to skype. they give you a free landline number from loads of places. rates at the moment for what i see and what i call are cheaper than any other provider. i use truphone a lot and mobile rates to italy are almost half.
google: skypho
zainman wrote:cash for some reason i am unable to receive calls on truphone using fring. I have set it up correctly and dialling works fine but still when somebody calls me they always get to voicemail. can u help
zainman wrote:cash can you help buddy. The problem is receiving calls from a geographic number, truphone to truphone calls i can receive perfectly.
Hi Zainman, I must admit I haven't encountered this, mainly because nobody has called me from a land line number, all my received calls have been from other truphone or sip numbers.
I will look into it when I have time, can you receive calls from other sip providers ?
