N95 Wired headsets?

Hi,
I've had my N95 for about 3 weeks now and am happy with it almost all the way. Previously I've been using the Plantronics MX153 boom headset with my N80 and N70 (and a similar one for the 6600).

Does anyone make a boom-type headset/earpiece that works with the Nokia AV-1 port on the N95?

I've found a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter (NOT the Nokia AD-53) which lets me use a similar boom headset with the N95. The sound in my ear is fine, BUT the mic doesn't work (obviously since not the AD-53?) and you have to use either the mic on the phone or the remote. Those mics aren't as good (subjectively to my ear) as the ones included on the boom headsets.

Is there a pop-port to AV-1 adaptor?

The Nokia Headset HS-40 looks like it would be ok even thought it isn't a boom device, and I may try it whenver it ships if I can't find other options. 😉

The Nokia HDB-5 might be ok (even if not as comfortable) but I believe it has a 2.5mm jack. Ditto for the HS-7, although I'd prefer non-stereo.

(I know Plantronics doesn't make an AV-1 port yet, according to their sales people. And I know I have bluetooth options, but am looking for wired for various reasons). I thought that someone here might have found a solution.

Thanks! 😊

p.s. These look to be the compatible Nokia options:
HS-40 (headset plus AD-53 adaptor included)
Hs-47 (stereo - includes the AD-53)
HS-16 - stereo with built in mic (but stereo).

Nokia Headset AD-53 (this is the 2.5 to 3.5 converter)

In case anyone was curious, I did call and email a few places about that headset and no one has any idea when they are going to ship. One site says Q2 2007 which probably means June 30, 2007 at 11:59:59pm 😉

I did find it at mobilecityonline.com, however it doesn't include the AD-53 that the Nokia web site says it includes. I think there must be two versions of the HS-40, the old one without the AD-53, and the new one with.
