Email won't connect - packed data connection

My 95 will connect to the net fine over Virgin 3g. However, I've just tried Email for the first time and it says "Packet data connection not available".

Does anyone know why this is? Do I need to put a GPRS setting into the phone or something? If so I may be in trouble as the phone has Vodaphone firmware and is at it's limit (I think) of the number of connections you can add (becuase the vodaphone ones can't be removed).

Sorry, was too quick to post - worked this one out.

I am however a little confused as to why when an email is downloaded, when you check again for new mail, the ones you downloaded last time dissapear!
