Nokia N95 & tomtom Version 6.010 (7640) POSTCODE PROBLEM

Hey all im new on this site. i;ve been looking about and could'nt come across a relevent topic wich could help me sort out this problem i have with my TOMTOM PLUS (version6) on my N95

Basicly what it is: I goto navigate to, then, Postcode..... Now, before my Tomtom updated to TT PLUS by its self!! ... i could use the postcode like usual, Just enter letters and numbers and BAM!! address pops up.: (N9 0SQ)

Sad to say after the update, when i goto post code, I try enter letters but only numbers are comming up, (pressing '6' for the letter 'N' and it just comes up as 6 or 66 or 666 lol)

I think the defult city/country is set to Amsterdam, and i've tried to change to london but i cant find a way to !
Grr this used to work before it updated to TomTom Plus or version 6.010 (7640) wich ever u wanna call it. I have not got a clue on how to get it to write as text aswell as numbers in for the post code. (e.g. N9 0SQ)

I was wondering if any1 else has the same problem or has a cure for this plz?
as i would apriciate it very very very much😊
thanks

I have tried a (ahem) "demo" of the TT software for my N95 before I decide if worth buying it (I will if get it running and find it ok BTW!!!)

Any way, when selecting the gps device I am only given options for external blue tooth ones and no method of selecting the N95 internal device?

Anyone know a way around this?

the only problems i've seen of this type are when you're using a non legit version of the software. If you've got a problem with software that you haven't bought the bottom line is suck it up and deal with it.
Or - if you like a challenge try calling up tomtom with someone elses account details and i'm sure they'll be really helpful... /sarcasm

if its a legit version - you'll find entering your TTplus details will let you fix this.

make sure you have the zip folder in the root of the memory card and that the folder contains two files with the Great Britain database.

Postcodes work fine on the n95 with that version of TomTom.

I have a solution, the search button! :banghead:
As has been discussed in several threads TomTom doesn't currently support the internal GPS.

Yep, they seriously need to put a "TomTom and the N95" Sticky at the top of this forum ASAP.

Sorry, new user - i can't post urls.

It's an official link - very handy for users of Tom Tom.
