Music Player Low volume
These days the volume is limited, by security of health reasons. The better way, is compare that N95 with another, but I think is like that.
blame health and safety EntraVenuS
ok blame it on h&s but does anyone know of a way round this? maybe a 3rd party player ??? i dunno .. just desperate to make more noise
I've noticed this. IPODs have a hack to increase the volume, I wonder if there is something similar on the 95 waiting to be discovered?
My N95 also played all music and videos on very low volume. I first thought that my phone was broken, but after testing I noticed that radio and mp3s as ringtones worked perfectly, 3x, 4x louder. Only the media player wouldn't play anything thru headset, and the speaker volume was almost none, no matter how loud the volume was set.
Solution: Go To Tools -> Settings -> General settings -> Restore original settings (Names may differ a bit, I have finnish phone). Default security code is 12345.
I found no record of any setting disabling headset in player, nor crippling speaker volume. I assume this is a bug, since its working fine now, as it worked in radio and ringtone modes before.

still the volume trough the headphones is Low even if i selected to 100% is there a way to make it louder even with this new FW is the same, trough the speakers works like a charm is loud enough to have a party :P
hi i have the same problem also man..i got this n95 8gb.. the sound a lil bit slow when i plug a external speaker into it,even when i put the volumes high..
do u know wht happen?do i have to set the audio for it?
i thougt i could use this phone to a party:P
I agree with you, the volume is very low through headphones. The only thing I can recommend is downloading mp3gain and putting the settings to 105db. It is the only thing I have found which increases the volume. I have done numerous searches on the net and cannot find anything else.
oo is tht so? thts the only way? hum ..i thought this phone is powerfull..
my friend got another phone which is just a middle end phone..when he plug in the jack into his phone, the sound was like blowing my ear off man ( but the volume is still half ) in the other hand mine is like a whisper ( which i hv set the volume into max) theres must be a reason for this..hum im curious..
Keep looking Davezilla, and please share if you find anything.
I don't know if this will help for you or not, but I know that LCG Jukebox has a modifiable equalizer on it. You could try that to increase what you need. Also CorePlayer has an AMP in it's audio settings.
Good Luck

I read this thread and thought .. maybe they missed something but NO .. they didn't
THIS IS A PROBLEM .. I was trying to display some previously recorded material on a large screen today .. and yep even on max phone-volume I had to wind up the TV sound where-as it played perfectly normally on a phone-volume of 5 before the v21 Upgrade.
higher (read boosted) Output volumes should be available for TV-out.
I really don't know why you guys are complaining... It's perfectly loud enough for me - I usually have my volume on 70% when listening to music on the way to work on the London underground, and it's loud enough even with all heavy background noise. As for the loudspeakers, they are loud, but expecting to use them for a party is just silly... If you are indoors surely you'd have better speakers to play the music out through.
Using better quality earphones/headphones would also help - the cheap ipod style earphones lose most of the sound to the surrounding so you won't get everything.
My N95 8GB is actually pretty loud on max volume. On normal listening, volume is usually at 60%. Only time it goes to 100% is when on a train
