Has anyone got any news on whether SKY remote record is or going to be available???
SKY Remote Record
I have it working now. I didn't do anything special just installed as per sky's website instructions.
Interesting, I just did it on my N95 (v11.0.026) and it said that it wasnt supported by my phone - you didn't happen to use the java JAR did you?
Used the same method of installing on N73 tried and got the same msg....not supported phone.......can anyone who has used it post the jar or sis file that they used.........Thanks😊
Ive been trying with N80 and N95 and both say not supported.
Im sure they will work though, becuase Im fairly certain its a normal jar file
I loaded the jar file which I found on a post in one of the AAS forums (don't ask me where now!) and it works a treat on my N95.
This works fine on my N95 but unfortunatly its the one that doesnt support mobile tv 😞

Managed to get mine working from the sony no tv jar file posted in another message. Thank god for that, no more missed tv....
Just called SKY to see when they are making the N95 compatible and they said they have no idea, could you not choose the N93 as your phone instead to complete installation or would this not work?
It wouldnt work becuase when they text you the link it says your phone is not compatible

This is a standard Java file which will install on just about ANY phone which is Java compatible including the N95. Simply download it to your N95 and run it. Simple as.

I've registered with Sky, downloaded the application shown above to my N95. It appears to run OK, but when I try to log on it says "Your credentials are correct but you don't seem to have permission to use the mobile application".
Has anybody else encountered this?
Is this a problem with my Sky account or is it because the application was not intended for an N95?
That's weird. Just tried the Sky By Mobile application on my N95 and all continues to work well.
I assume you confirm the application can send/receive data?

Have you registered using your SKY+ box? I have the same message but if you check the SKY website as well as needing a SKY username and password, you have to go to the Active Sky menu and Customer Services and Choose the Register option for Mobiles.
Yes, I've tried on both Vodaphone contract internet and via a wi-fi access point.
Vodaphone customer support have given the usual level of help i.e. sorry we don't support this phone.
spendleb - I'll have to check registration when I get home. I definately entered my mobile number. At no point was I asked what model of phone I had. Apparently you should be sent a text link. I'll try again and say that I have an N91 and see what happens.

i have had the same problem as you and want to know why i am getting that message.
Finally got this to work. Had to go to the My Sky website and log into "MY SKY" -> "My Sky Profile" and add "Sky Anytime on Mobile" from there. This sends you a text message with an installation path. Ignore this otherwise it will recognise that your phone is not supported. Install the one linked above instead.
Having been sent this text message, Sky must also authorise your mobile number to use the service. The application should now work. Initially it would not let me record but after a few hours this seems to have been activated and everything works OK now.

i HAVE HAD THIS ALSO AND IT TURNS OUT THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE EITHER OF THE MOVIE OR SPORT PACKAGES TO QUALIFY FOR IT.
SEEMS A BIT OF A CON TO ME😡
tried all this and registered yet it still says I am not authorised, I might have to delete the file from here and try again.
Does anyone have the JAR for the version that supports mobile TV?
I think its only supposed to be for Orange (maybe Vodafone too) customers but any 3G access point / Wifi should work.
When I was an Orange customer and subscribed to one of the Sky TV "packs" Orange actually encouraged me to use the Orange WAP links rather than by using a dedicated Orange/Sky TV applet on the phone. I can't comment about Vodafone.
In actual fact, in order to access the TV part, ie to be able to stream to your phone, you do need to be accessing via an Orange or Vodafone 3G connection. There's clearly some authenticity checks going on in the background. Accessing via your home WiFi for example, doesn't work.

Nice one! Did what you did and it's working. 😊
I've waited so long for Voda and sKy to sort this out my contract with them ran out out. 🙄
Well, after a long while having to use a Sony (pah) Java application to utilise Sky's Remote Record features, they have at last seen fit to release a native Symbian 3rd Edition version.
Type the following URL into your phone's web browser and download the app, which will automatically install.
http://mobile.sky.com/skyapp/skyapp.asp
The page will auto detect your phone and install the correct version.
My personal opinion of this application is that it is a vast improvement over the Java version and better than the old S60 2nd Edition that I used to use on my 6680.
It took a while to get there, but here it is 😊
All the best,
Rob.
When I try and to go to the Sky web page it informs me my phone (Nokia N76) is not supported! I used the JAR version (v4) which was great but now I've had to upgrade to v5 and this doesn't have an option for Sky Bet anymore, any ideas why not anybody?
