Hi,
Has an existing O2 customer in contract had any success with obtaining this ;
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2007/03/25/cnotwo25.xml
It's the unlimited web for 10 deal through retentions.
o2 Customer Service seem to be reading from an already written email when I queried them , and ask them to explain why they were so expensive with regards to data.
Its been discussed a fair bit on the 3g.co.uk O2 forum and nobody seems to be able to get it 😞
There were also hints from various O2 staff that the new tariffs launched last week would include a Web & Walk type data package, but it was all hot air as the best O2 seem to be able to muster is £10 for 20Mb :icon13:
After a series of email exchanges between myself and various O2 departments, this is the best that customer care could offer ;
"After looking over the Links you sent me, I have tried to put together a tariff which would best match the information. After consulting our retention department, I am happy to tell you that:
Your Inclusive Allowance
O2 250 25.00 per month gives - 250 anytime mins, 200 sms
100 Messages Bolt on for 5 per month
O2 Data 5 Bolt on 5.88
Total cost per month 35.88
We can offer you a further 10mb bolt on for 10 per month bringing your Data Allowance to 15mb, this is a new bolt on that has just been introduced for High Data Users."
Now, O2 Data - after the 5mb inclusive has been munched then every mb after is 1 anyway.
I'm speaking with senior complaints now and explained the situation, they have offered 20mb for 10 per month.
O2 have stated they are not in a position currently to offer any web&walk/all you can eat tariff's.
The 10 unlimited tariff offered by retentions is only available if you migrate to a blackberry.
I know, its almost laughable when the CS reps try and big up a few Mb of data for £10 as if it's a large amount when you've already mentioned Web & Walk that gives 1Gb for £7.50! 😃 :icon13:
Im now pinning my hopes on Orange who are the only other operator who I can get decent signal at home with, but its almost as bad with them. There was a Times article last week mentioning that Orange were planning some new "Internet Snacks" data packages including one for £8 similar to web & walk, but none of the reps etc know anything about it. The strange thing is there's ALREADY an Orange package that the odd high value customer have been given for £8/month with a 2Gb FUP, but 99% of CS reps dont know about it, and even if you find one that does, seemingly you can only get it if spend more than ~£5000 a month, you're great grandfather is from Outer Mongolia and you drive a Morris Minor :tongue:
