The Nokia Software Update team have had a busy few weeks. They've now rolled out v3.0633.09.04 (i.e. v3, rather than v2) firmware for the Nokia E70 qwerty smartphone. Spotted via the AAS forums. v3 seems to be mainly about better VoIP support, please comment as you spot other improvements.

My UK-based E70 has code 0538292 (under the battery). It claims it supports English, Nederlands, Latvian and Lithuanian as writing langages. The availability checker here:

still says 2.0618.07.10 for my E70. I hope they've fixed all the WiFi random reboots in this new firmware, as using certain public WiFi points either cause a reboot when connecting, or the phone goes slow for a minute then reboots if the signal is weak 😞
This update has done wonders to my e70.
The memory is much much much more optimized. Now you can actually use the browser without getting the out of memory when borwsing at large websites even long time browsing wont be a problem
the sip client is much better now. Now you can serach for an accesspoint when enabling internet telephony (make a shortcut to active standby)
the e70 is finally a serious business device
Will this update work on the US e70-2?
When the v2 came out for the non US E70-2s, it took about 3 more months or so for the corresponding update to come out for the E70-2.
It's coming, I'm sure.
Even if the system would allow you to flash your E70-2 with this, it would probably completely screw up your phone, since the hardware is slightly different (different radios)
i bought this cell almost 8 months ago and it had v 1.xxx i think that firmware was slow but more stable and music player volume was cool ... i then updated to v2.0618...which is faster in speed but has many memory leak problems and music player really sucks on headsets.... now lets see wht this firmware has came up with :P
does anyone know when this firmware update will hit for E70 owners in the USA?
Has anyone managed to persuade NSU to give them anything better than V2.... for this Product Code yet?
Typical - Vodafone in the UK give us V2.X just as Nokia release V3.X.
Mind you it's take me until then to get everything back as it was (but that's another thread!)
I have a APAC E70 running on V2xxx . There is one problem that I have is when I open a Word document, the alphabets are displayed as boxes. I would like to know from anyone having V3xxx firmware has this problem been rectified. If it has, then I am going to request Nokia to release V3xxx for APAC versions of the E70. (For some reason APAC versions of the E70 don't have the V3xxx firmware available.)
