I'm considering buying a 3 year GPS subscription, but I would like to know if I can recover the subscription onto another N95 if say mine is stolen, or onto a future Nokia phone I upgrade to in a year or so that also has built in sat nav.
Im asking becuase i dont want to pay near enough 50 for a subscription today, break my phone tomorrow, get it replaced on insurance and end up paying 50 GPS again...

Im guessing it would be locked to your IMIE code so even if you backed up your pone im guessing it wouldn't work on another. Lets face it if Nokia didnt lock it to your IMIE code all someone would have to do is copy the contents of your phone and they could use Nokia Maps for free.
It's locked to your IMEI but I'm sure I read somewhere here that someone had that exact problem, they got in touch with smart2go and they enabled it on the new handset.
Same to me. I also read some thing about that. It cant be transfered to another phone. Only the contact with smart2go can help.
I asked on another forum and they told me to enter the lisence code on the purchase menu and it deactivates it on the other phone?
That would be pretty pointless, if the key algorithm somehow got guessed people entering the generated keys could deactivate someone's legit copy.
I'm pretty sure it's tied to the phone's IMEI.
Easiest way to find out for sure is to get in touch with smart2go.
