Thanks, Rafe, for setting this forum up.
If you have any questions about the E90, please fire them in here. If I can answer them I will, though I may do so in batches if it gets busy, I've got writing to do for a living, you know 8-)

When it comes to OS speed, GPS signal, wifi signal is the E90 better then the N95?
What I mean is, do you notice a lot of improvments/changes compared to the the N95? Because I think the N95 and E90 will be close on most of the aspects.
These are all more or less identical to the N95. Think of the E90 as being the N95 plus a larger screen and keyboard....
Steve
There are some concerns with a2dp bluetooth profile following mobile-review pretest.
Could you confirm that the production models will have A2DP on board ? this would be the only drawback to the N95 😊
Compared to the N95 and for a general purpose phone, both business oriented and multimedia oriented, would you prefer a combination of a light N95 + keyboard for business or a single E90 ??
@bluestar
I have a N95 and BT keyboard. But what I find is that as I need to make PIM updates all the time, I don't use my N95 now as my main Smartphone - I use either a SE M600 or P990 as these are good for data entry. I prefer the 9500 form factor for my business use - the E90 may be too small for me. But my n95 will be passed to my wife and I will get the E90.
The unit Steve has does have A2DP support.

I would definitley go for the E90. N95 makes me an impression which went from bad to worst.

Do you have any information about something like "Data Mover" we used between 9210 and 9500. Any easy way to transfer notes calender etc and programs from 9500 to E90 ?
Pierre
Yes, there's a utility for this, though I haven't been able to test it. In any case, I'd rather go via Outlook - which worked perfectly for me, switching my data over the last 6 months between E70, N95, N93 and now E90.

Thanks for this good news
Also PC Suite will help a lot ?

This is very helpful, thanks - I'd been wondering about whether to give up and try an N95. Sounds like I should just give the E90 a go and see.
While I write, Steve, I just wanted to say thanks for all you've done and still do for the Psion/Symbian community, I remember you from the Psion/3LIB days!
So how do you personally find the E90 keyboard compared with the 5mx's?
And in terms of transferring text from E90 to PC, is there software like PsiWin where you can just copy from one and paste to the other?
Any news on whether we could download a version of Opera for the E90?
Thanks. Nothing will touch the 5mx's keyboard, of course, but then that was an awful lot bigger. And did less things besides. The E90's keyboard iis growing on me, I'd say now that it's as good as the 9210's or 9500's, which is good because the E90 itself is smaller....
No CopyAnywhere, though, sadly, although it's only a few clicks to use a Notes entry to transfer text via a normal sync.
No idea on Opera, although I can't see why it wouldn't work. But Web on the E90 is so good that I don't think anyone would bother.
Steve
hello. i was wondering what is the product contents of the e90 package? i thought there was a leather pouch to be included? also when do you think the unit will be released? thanks. also, where can we get softwares for the e90? are the current applications for s60 3rd ed compatible with the e90 even though it has a larger screen? does the screen size of the applications adjust automatically? thanks.
Can anybody have any idea about using this phone with CDMA operator? I have already invested in this phone and now I need to change my mobile operator. I am thinking of a CDMA operator. Is there any way by which I can use this mobile as a CDMA phone?
With regards,

well i hope the production one has a A2DP like yours, and probably a way to get tv-out.
this would make it simply better then n95 interms of multimedia since it can play videos at bigger screen and higher resolution coz of the ram too!
so ya i hope these two features get through nokia head to put it in the production model, or maybe a firmware update might do it.
Hi everyone!
I am about to purchase my first Symbian Phone.
Mr. Steve, let me start by telling you that your reviews (and the discovery of your Smartphones Shows) have made me switch to Symbian, having previously using Windows Mobile exclusively.
While I was looking for reviews on the net, having purchased the HTC TyTN which is a very good smartphone, I nonetheless sold it the same day I read Steve's extensive reviews on the E90.
And now, I just cannot wait untill it is released here in the UAE! I am very curious to see how Symbian looks and feels (user friendlyness, customabilty, potential, etc...) as i have been told that it is very straightforward and easy to use.
Can anyone give me some good links, maybe within this website, for Symbian begginers? Untill now all that I have found is somewhat for more advanced users, comparing old versions with the lates S60 one...
Oh yeah, and Steve, about your Smartphones Show, is it periodical? (if yes how often)
Thanks a lot!
Hi Steve,
I owned an N95 for a short time as I was waiting for an e90. Luckily I received one sooner than I expected.
The unit I received is from Singapore by the way.
One of the things that I really liked about the N95 was a media download area with 'channels' such as You Tube, Reuters, etc. I particularly liked Reuters for news clips, etc. and they were of exceptional quality.
I don't see where my e90 has this interface and wondered if I am just missing it somewhere.
Also, the Download links for themes, etc. take me to a web page that indicates that says "The service is not available for this terminal". I am guessing this is since it came from Singapore, but I don't know.
One additional question. I have not been able to connect to AOL Instant Messenger within the built-in IM application. I tried to set up a Server called "AOL Instant Messenger" and the settings are as follows:
Server name: AOL Instant Messenger
Access point in use: (tried both my WiFi and GPRS connections which work fine by the way)
Web address: login.oscar.aol.com
User ID: (my AOL Instant Messenger User ID)
Password: (my AOL Instant Messenger Password)
I have searched the forums and the web, but am either using the wrong search terms, it isn't there or my settings are wrong).
Thanks for your help!
no idea on AOL IM, try one of the more generic Eseries forums etc.
Steve
E90 does not have AGPS yet, but it will be there (purely speculation). It works great in car, due to larger screen than N95.
I bought SU-8W keyboard to help me in typing emails, but there are some different mapping of keys, watch it...
