hello steve,
i just registered after reading all your veeery nice reviews..
After playing around with the e90 for two months, what kind
of production quality do you expect concerning the first ever
sold units?
Quality standing for a) build quality (hinges, ..) and b) firmware/
software stability. As the firmware can be updated, your opinion
on build quality would be more relevant to me.
I'm asking because of being told by my operator today the e90
is due in calendar week 23 and I'm not sure if I should go with
the first I can get my hands on or wait a little (maybe a month
or so) for the second, maybe improved/more dependable round
of units...
any hints very welcome!
expected quality of first ever sold E90 units!?
Good question, I'm also waiting on the E90 for long, and if you see how fast a firmware update came for the N95 without details about the fixes and improvements, I have my doubts aswell.
I'm really waiting on steve's or rafe's (or symbian-freaks) very big endurance indepth reviews. I will read them all before I buy, thats for sure. 😊

Don't worry about HARDWARE quality - even the E90 prototypes are 100% solid, the most 'metal' handheld device I've ever used. I dropped it on a hard floor by accident and not even a tiny mark.....
Software's another thing, of course. We'll have to wait for production firmware before I can comment further. But it's already just about useable and we're still at least a month from release....
Steve
How reliable will this unit be?
Presumably at least as reliable as any other phone, but hopefully even more so. 😉
Hard to comment on final reliability of a device that isn't available yet.
so steve is like all metal even all teh covers? and keys?
