In a similar vein to the last "how can I downgrade my firmware?" post, a word of warning to Orange users of the ALS "Line 2" service:

It is NOT compatible with Music Edition Ver 3.0705.1.0.31

If you upgrade to ME, you will LOSE line 2 functionality.

With ME edition, holding down the # (hash) key switches the phone into the "silent" profile and back. Line 2 is NOT available in the Menus.

I have learned this from bitter experience - As yet, I have not figured out how to "downgrade" and with my luck, is the Orange version liukely to get to version 4...?

Wrong.

Call Orange and get them to do a SIM update.

...but it has'nt worked.

Apparently they are willing to swap the phone under Orangecare, but then I have to go through the hassle of getting reg codes for the half dozen or so apps on the phone.

Hmmmm...
